First, Dr. Stephen Dankworth or Dr. Kimberly Corrigan-Dankworth will examine the tooth for decay to ensure the crowned tooth will be healthy. If the tooth is free of decay, it will be roughened for a secure fit and an impression of the tooth's surface will be made.

A porcelain crown will be color-matched and custom-manufactured to fit your mouth, giving you a natural look and feel. Our dentists prefer to use porcelain crowns because the translucence of porcelain mimics that of natural teeth. After the crown is made, it will be adjusted for a smooth fit and bonded firmly to the tooth. Beside its aesthetic benefits, crowning a damaged tooth protects it from further wear and improves a patient's overall oral health.
