Quickly Restore Your Appearance and Your Oral Health with All-on-X
New Patient Offer
($535 Value)
Permanent dentures are revolutionary for dentistry, and La Costa Dental Excellence is happy to offer our patients this service. Using the All-on-X system we can replace an arch or both arches of missing teeth using 4–10 implants, depending on your needs. These implants prevent jawbone deterioration and combined with the denture, protect your gums as well.
With this system, we place the implants and then give you a denture to wear over the implants while they heal, effectively restoring your smile in a single visit.
Our Custom Dentures Can Change Lives
We custom-make our dentures for every patient and use All-on-X for its flexibility in how many and what kind of implants we place. This means that each patient is getting a unique smile, suited to their face and oral health needs.
Here is how our custom implant-supported dentures have changed the lives of our patients.

How Our Implant-Supported Dentures Work
Implant dentures have several important features that make your life easy. There are three parts to our permanent dentures:
- Implant | Denture implants are small titanium posts that are placed inside your jaw, acting like natural tooth roots to stimulate the bone. They create a strong foundation for the dentures.
- Abutment | This is the connection between the implant and the denture. They will be placed after the implants have integrated with your jaw and is what the permanent denture will attach to.
- Denture | This is your new arch of teeth, that you can easily eat and speak with. You will have a temporary denture placed over the implants while they heal, and once the implants have integrated into your jaw you will get a permanent denture that attaches to the abutment.
The process of placing your implant and placing the temporary denture happens all at one appointment in our Carlsbad office. You then return in a couple of months to have your permanent dentures fitted.
The implants can be placed while you have local or even general anesthesia. Learn more about implants by visiting our implant page or calling our office.
Comparing Traditional and Implant-Supported Dentures
Traditional Dentures
Implant-Supported Dentures
Eating
Eating with traditional dentures can be difficult, with your diet limited to softer foods. You may even have your dentures slip when you try to chew.
Eating
Eating is easier with implant-supported dentures, with very few diet restrictions. They won’t slip as you chew.
Speaking
You may notice that you have a lisp or that speaking has changed since the dentures are not perfectly fitted or move around as you use your mouth.
Speaking
Since they don’t slip you won’t notice a lisp. Speaking will take a couple of days of adjustment and then be easy and natural once again.
Cosmetics
As long as your dentures are fit properly, they give the appearance of a normal arch of teeth, however, you may have diminished confidence if you are concerned about them staying fitted over your gums. They don’t prevent facial sagging though.
Cosmetics
You can have perfect confidence knowing that your dentures are perfectly fitted and appear natural when they are anchored by implants. Implants support your cheeks to prevent facial sagging.
Convenience
You have to remove your dentures and soak them every night, and there are often refittings.
Convenience
Cleaning implant-supported dentures is incredibly easy. You use a toothbrush and a water flosser, just like natural teeth. You won’t have to remove them or worry about them warping.
Oral Health
Traditional dentures do protect your gums, but they don’t prevent your jawbone from losing bone density, or from a shrinking arch.
Oral Health
Implants are one of the premier ways to protect your oral health after tooth loss, from securing your jawbone health to protecting your gums.
Permanence
You have to replace traditional dentures every 5–10 years, especially if you experience sagging or shrinking of your arch. They are not very durable.
Permanence
Implants last a lifetime, and the dentures placed on top of them last around 15 years, but can be easily replaced once they age. They are more durable than traditional dentures.
Frequently Asked Questions for Implant-Supported Dentures
What is Recovery Like After Getting Implants?
Implants are an outpatient surgery that typically takes a couple of hours. You will need to eat soft foods and rotate between pain relievers and ice packs to prevent swelling for the first couple of days. After that, you can enjoy your new fully functional smile.
What Are the Results of Implant-Supported Dentures?
The results you can expect from implant-supported dentures are both cosmetic and restorative. Your smile will once again be complete with beautiful replacement teeth that look and function like your natural teeth! Once again you can chew your favorite foods, speak clearly, and smile confidently.
Will My Face Change With These Dentures?
Traditional dentures don’t provide the same stimulation that natural teeth do. This can cause a shift in bite, extra wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, and even sagging of the facial muscles.
Implant-supported dentures can prevent these changes! Since they are attached to your jaw like natural teeth, they provide all the necessary stimulation to keep your appearance healthy.
How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?
At La Costa Dental Excellence, we strive to provide each patient with truly individualized care, ensuring that your dental health needs and oral health goals are met. Because we provide such personalized plans, costs can vary from treatment to treatment.
This means we will more accurately price your treatment after consultation. But don’t worry; we offer free dental implant consultations and several payment options.
Do Dental Implants Require Specialized Care?
One of the driving factors behind the popularity of implant-supported dentures is their ability to create a beautiful smile and the benefits of new teeth.
You can keep your dental implants in perfect shape with oral care; brush twice a day and floss and/or use a Waterpik once a day while scheduling routine checkups. It’s that simple!
Are Implant-Supported Dentures Covered By Insurance?
Dental plans can cover costs related to implant-supported dentures. However, how much is covered differs from policy to policy. But not to worry! Our staff has been trained to help navigate policy questions, evaluate treatment costs, and show you what financing options are available to you.
